Saving a color scheme to reapply to another variation

Hi,

I am doing a large project that will have me rendering slight variations of the same product. I have 100+ iterations I will be doing that all stem from the same design but slightly different.

My question was, is there a way to capture the color scheme I did on my first rendering, so that when I import the next variation I can reapply the same colors and materials to all parts and then just tweak the colors for that specific variation, which will be very minor compared to the elements that will be remaining the same?

Save the materials of the first model in a new folder in the materials library. Assign them to other models of the same project. Then you can use multi-materials for color variations or just unlink materials that must be changed and fine-tune unlinked copies.

I will look into doing that then thank you

As Oleksii said in his response, you would have to preset multi-materials with all the different color variations on the parts, then link the parts that have same color and materials.

I also add in an extra step and use the Configurator Wizard and I create the colorway templates within there with the different multi-materials. This make it so that you can easily get the entire model setup in that specific colorway at a click of a button and it changes all the settings. This can also be achieved through studios, but since you cannot make studio folders and the multi material settings in the studios seems to get lost frequently, I found the Config Wizard a much more reliable to set these up. It definitely take a bit more time to get these setup, but once they are, it makes pulling color setups much faster in the future if you need to add angles or additional renders in the future.

For the product I render, we often have only a few different actual products we make, but 10-20 SKU variations of each product. During the concepting phase, it is normal for us to have over 100 variations of just one product so I definitely feel your struggle with the different colorways.

Here is screen of the Material Ways for one of our headsets that I concepted 11 different colorways for testing and having them setup in this fashion allows me to quickly have the model setup to render whichever style the company requests.
